Okay, so we had Sky+ HD installed a few months ago, great, all working, no problems.

However, we're still waiting for BT to come out and install the telephone line and then to have broadband enabled. My query being, we're being charged for all of the services because sky say "that's all part of the package, its not broken down separately"

Now where do we stand? Have they got us by the short and curlys? We cant cancel anything because we're on a 12 month contract.

you shouldnt be charged for your bb or line rental till it actually goes active, does it actually show up all of them separately on your bill?

You'd be better off chasing BT/Openreach and get them to get their finger out and ask them for compensation.

(this may be better off in SP&L)

We were in the same position last October, they only started charging for phone line and then internet as those extra services came online.
You are currently paying for a service you are not receiving. I'm sure they are on some dodgy legal ground there!

Also, the broadband should be broken down seperately unless you are on some 'all inclusive' deal which is cheaper than normal.

I used to have sky hd and sky bb, and I was paying £50 odd for sky and £10 for bb, so they took one dd of c£60. But I've now cancelled bb to go with bt bb and my dd has reduced by the sky bb £10. So the bottom line is that if they tell you they can't split it out, I don't think that's true.

Still I do wonder: Why did you order broadband when you didn't have a phone line?

Becuase that was the package we went for, but to have their BB we needed a BT line (not telewest/Virgin)

I know it's too late now, but was it not possible to get TV and add BB later, when you had the line? (Genuine question as I don't know what their current pricing structure is for new customers.)

Fair comment.

As others have said, you kind of have two angles to attack:
- Sky to give you a discount on the service as you're not recieving it.
- BT to pull their finger out and get your line in.

Are they charging you for the broadband as the lowest package is free BB with TV package, you only pay £5 or £10 if you upgrade to larger limits.

if contract for broadband and line is with sky that is who needs to be chased as they are the service provider and it is the service provider that would deal with any compo .
i suspect no order has been placed for the phone line .
