Got my new AV gear!
Discussion
Been saving (and pestering the OH) for a while, so was quite excited to take my shopping list and credit card into Richer Sounds this weekend After a nice bit of banter with the manager who served me, I drove away with:
Sony STR-DH800 AV receiver
Tannoy SFX5.1 speakers and stands
LG BD360 blu-ray player
and a couple of carrier bags full of assorted cables and wires. I spent the afternoon building and setting up, and I love it! It all worked first time, which is a miracle in itself. The sound is crystal clear, and more than loud enough
So I now have 5.1 sound from Sky HD, PS3 and the new BD player
I just hope I don't get the itch to upgrade any time soon... It feels like the start of a slippery slope!

Nice! surprised Richer Sounds didnt try and sell you an Onkyo like they did with me when I asked about the Sony.
In the end I bought a Denon 1909 used and 2 x KEF Q35.2, 2 x Q15.5, 1 x Q95C and a KEF 30B sub, all in for about £600.
I'm not tempted to upgrade yet because I live in a shared house, but I can imagine it is addictive
