Can anyone recommend any good online places for advertised secondhand audio kit/hi-fi components (other than here of course)?

I don't trust eBay much these days and frnakly think that decent kit being sold by enthusiasts would be advertised elsewhere, for the attention of other enthusiasts.

I've bought and sold with good success on Pinkfish and hififorsale.

Av forums has a friendly, honest and enthusiastic bunch. Loads of stuff on there, but the good stuff goes quick. It also has slightly odd "offer" and "acceptance" rules, almost like a forum based auction, so read up before you go making offers etc.

I got my Arcam 7se CD player from there for £55 delivered, in perfect working order. Super happy with that.

Thanks. I am a member of AV Forums and have used them quite a bit for buying and selling AV kit and photography equipment. It is a good and generally reliable forum. I know what you mean about good stuff going quick and yes, the rules are a bit odd.

I was hoping to get a few more reliable sources in my 'favourites' to keep a watch on.

As said, pinkfish, wigwam, zerogain.

Also some of the kit posted on these forums is also posted on ebay at the same time. So there are some exceptionally good items on ebay! It's just you need to look at the higher priced perfect condition items only. Perhaps only look at items of £500 and upwards, from people with 100% feedback, exhibiting very large photos, and ideally those adverts that were linked to from one of those hifi forums.

I have bought and sold many items that are 100% as new for a fraction of the retail price on ebay. As a buyer and a seller I have been very happy. My recent purchase was a £3k amplifier for £800. Perfect product, perfect history, perfect seller.

I've built my system up using a mixture of Wigwam and AVForums. I've picked up £6k worth of Arcam gear for about 25% of the new cost (and some still has 3 years warranty remaining!). I've upgraded my speakers from smaller PMC DB1+ models to TB2+ versions for about £50 after selling on my original ones, so AVF came up trumps there. I bought and sold a series of Panasonic projectors in the past and lost some serious money for the limited hours use. I've deceided to buy mostly used gear this year (can't buy a used Freeview HD TV unfortunately, so I'll have to break ranks for that purchase). I'm hoping to pick up a used JVC HD950 projector in a year or twos time as an upgrade from my current HD350, but I'll be avoiding Ebay for this purchase as it seems overpriced and/or risky unless it's a cash on collection sale I suppose.

Slightly OT, I've been receiving phone calls from Ebay buyers because the seller has given my phone number. As one was for a cash on collection sale, I can't see what the point was if this was done on purpose (apart from just messing people about). Any ideas?
