What is your advice re my TV
Discussion
Had my Panasonic TX50S11B which I was very happy with from Comet (with 5yr cover) since Sunday but it broke today and the repair guy has said It cannot be repaired and I should contact the store to replace. They do not have the same TV and have offered me a swap with various LG or Samsungs but they have also offered me a Sony 52w5500 for a few extra (£150) pounds which would make my total cost approx £900 (excluding warranty). I now the Sony is an older model, and this one is Xdisplay, and I also beleive it is LCD.
I ask the opinions of the experts on here if this is a good deal, the Sont seems to be a £1500+ TV
Thanks

Surely a TV that's failed so soon shouldn't be repaired, but offered a full refund? Then you could probably go elsewhere and get another Panasonic if that's what you want. FWIW Sony don't make plasma screens theses days so the one you've been offered will be LCD as they don't make OLED ones that big (yet).
Panasonic terms will give replacement if failure within 28 days.Faulty as new. The latest 50S20 will be in store in a week or so and if I were you I would ask to have that one. Bear in mind that the 50S11 part number is a Comet specific code. You will find that the 50S10 is nigh on the same. Without looking it up it may well be slightly better.
Today , the Panasonic B2B website was showing stock of the 50S10 by the way
To actually answer your question I would stick with a 50" plasma as opposed to the Sony LCD
