I've just bought an LCD tv and I'm thinking about mounting it to the wall. My only concern is....where do I put the sky box & dvd player? I'd like a nice clean wireless look really.

If there's no way of doing it, I suppose I'd have saved myself a few beans not having to buy a wall bracket

Bury the cables in the wall, plaster over and paint.

Normally you would put them in some sort of a cabinet/stand near where they are now otherwise you will have to get your dish leads/phone extention moved to the new location. There is the option of wall mounted AV rack/shelves if you want them on display. Bear in mind you need the fronts of them visable for the remote controls to work or if they go in a cabinet you will need some sort of remote extender.
Then if you dont want to see the cables then embed them as previously mentioned.

I have been doing this as part of substantial house renovations. Hard and messy work, and even though i am sure it will all look nice once it's done, i personally would not go down this route in future. I also do not like the 'permanency' of it all - it really does close off the option to swap and change leads or change TV or component positioning.

Next time i would definitly look at discreet cable conduit over walls, routing behind skirting or under floor. Or just buy some very nice £100 leads and proudly show them off to your friends and family smile

you could always chase the wall a bit deeper and hide some trunking in there. i know it is more work and the trunking would have to be quite substantial, but might be an option

On mine I sunk a 2" plastic pipe in the wall (between TV & Cabinet) and plastered over. I can now change or add more cables easily.
All the speaker cables are sunk in the wall in trunking and hidden behind the coving about 500ft of cable around the room including phone, hdmi and ethernet.

please no comments saying the TV is too high it's how I like it rotate

We use a wall mounted bracket for mounting equipment on under the screen. The bracket comes with a plastic centre piece that hides all cables. Not a bad solution and simple to install. You can then stack numerous pieces underneath and add as required.
