Samsung LE40A656 constant high pitch whine?
Discussion
Hi,
I Turned the TV on this morning to be greeted by a high pitched whine/whistle/squeal. It only happens when the TV is switched on. Not on Standby. Obviously I've tried the classic 'unplugging it and plugging it back in'...no joy!
It seems to be coming from the panel itself as the pitch of the whine changes with what is on the screen. Odd!
Does anyone know how to solve this??
Its just over a year old years old now so I hope it isn't terminal!
Thanks
coanda

I thought this happened on all TVs?
Genuine thought - I cannot remember a TV where this didn't happen. I have a Sony CRT, a Tosh CRT, a big Samsung plasma, and a 2000 vintage Panasonic plasma which is still rocking on although it is bloody noisy. That said the picture is still awesome.
Then one day you realise it - and you can't stop hearing it.
Plotloss may have a more technical theory though.
