Strange Sky+ HD problem

I've started having a strange thing happen when I rewind live TV, I get visual playback but no aduio, it happened on something I recorded the other day too but the rest of the recorded stuff is ok. I thought of the old hard reboot but wondered if anyone has experienced similar.

Also can I transfer the contents of the box onto an external hard drive? not to watch on a PC etc but incase the box dies so I can transfer it back to the new box (if one is needed)

Mine has started refusing to record or rewind.
Hard boot fixed it.

Only way I've heard of to get stuff off involves taking the drive out
Shame, cos we've got one or two recordings we'd like to save.

This comes just after telling them to feck off with their insurance lol

you can transfer from the box but as far as I know its done much like an old vhs recording rather than move files accross. i.e. you have to play the program and record it onto something else

It fixes a multitude of sins


My Sky+HD (4 weeks old) started suffering from picture break-up on playback from HD channels a few days ago. The magical hard reboot failed on this occasion. A new (not expensive) HDMI lead sorted it.
