Looks like I'll be doing a deal to leave my 5.1 system and panasonic 42 plasma with the house I am selling, hence time to go shopping weyhey!

Thing is I haven't followed the market for several years. I was considering an LCD 50 inch HD maybe with something as simple as a BOSE 321 or lifestyle. I know some people don't rate BOSE, but I have heard these before and to be honest they seem perfectly good enough to listen to DVDs/cable TV, which is all I really need.

I'm sure there are some true experts out there who can recommend the latest and greatest to take a look at - any suggestions are most welcome. Budget not really an issue, but I like the idea of minimal faff setting up.

Cheers!

Hi Plotloss,

I need the whole shebang i.e. wall mount screen, AV processor, DVD (HD), with input for sky. People have told me to avoid BOSE but I kind of like them, as I have 2 soundocks for ipods which do the job v well. Would like to avoid my previous route of channelling out through walls for speaker cables hence virtual surround is perfectly acceptable. Any pointers?

Im thinking of a sound bar rather than a 321 maybe?
The problem with the Bose stuff (apart from the price) is that generally they are technology from way back when! For instance the 321 system has recently been updated to have a HDMI upscaled output but whats the freaking point? the only point in going the HDMI route is when the source is HD (like blu-ray) and the 321 is only DVD. The 321 is the only 'Virtual' surround system they do, the lifestyle and the V systems are all 5.1 systems that need wires running to all speakers.
If you like the look and sound of the Bose but want Blu-Ray then you could just get a Bose Cinemate and a Blu-Ray player. Screen wise then your only going to get a Panasonic recomendation from this forum wink

Wait a few weeks.

Couple a Panasonic VT20, matching 3D BD player and a Yamaha soundbar.

If you don't want 3D, then a V20 or G20 will be fine.
