Audio combo recommendations needed.

I am currently in the process of planning a decent quality AV package for a house I plan to buy in the next 2 years. I now reside in a flat and therefore am restricted with space in the lounge for good quality equipment.
My planned equipment is as follows
1. Panasonic G10 plasma. (currently using a sony w5710 which will be a bedroom display in the future)
2. PS3
3. yamaha AV reciever (765 is on the current list ..but could upgrade as per recommendations)
4. Floorstanders and centre speaker for now (going for a 7.1 system, but sub and surround speakers to be added later as space is an issue now)
My speaker package question to you is:
Yamaha 765 and MA RX6 floor standers with a centre speaker!
1. Is this combo good enough? (quality and power)
2. My budget is around the £1k mark. (is there an upgrade combo within the budget?)
3. Are there other alternatives in the speaker/amp that I should research into that may be better in terms of sound and AV processing quality?
I usually listen to music via video, decent amount of gaming, mostly movies in HD all in that order.

A lot will change in two years so I'd come back when you are ready to purchase.
However, ps3 is a great source and will continue to be most medium end systems. I love the yamaha amps for sound quality and certainly sound richer than the usual suspects from Denon and Pioneer. A good match would be MA as you suggest but you mention a 1k budget, for what? RX6,s are 750? leaving you 250 for the center. You need to add a decent sub (REL T3) and rears (MA R90's) + cabling (QED) etc
Panel tech will prob favour LED by the time you buy.

The idea is to start buying the amp, fronts and center now.
Looks like RX v1065 can now be had for £480. So the speakers will not come in for anything close to £750 would it? grrrr...might have to drop down to the rs6 models on discount now.
