I am moving house at the end of the month

I am pretty fed up with Sky and my new place is in a cabled area

The thought of 20 or 50Mb broadband does appeal and having created my own bundle online I am seriously thinking about moving to Virgin

The only thing is I want their V+ HD box, but I don't fancy paying £75 for it, especially as I could get a free HD box from Sky if I did stay with them

Anyone know if you can haggle with Virgin or anyway of convincing them to give me the box for free?

I did, but that was a couple of years ago, I was also upgrading so not a new customer. Managed to get the HD Box free and also no install costs and a reduced package rate.

All you can do is give it a go, tell them you area Sky customer coming across and see what happens.

Virgin Cable is a very good service, BB is excellent and the On demand stuff on the V+ is very good, just lacking a good selection of HD channels.

Ah ok cheers, yeah I think I'll run with that smile

Yeah its a bit of a mixed bag, I'll miss my Sky Sports but it's too expensive too put on the Virgin bundle, I think more HD channels will appear in time but the thought of continuing to give Sky £66 pounds a month for a service which started well and has got consistently worse just gets my goat

Cheers for the info smile

Do you know anyone who works for Virgin? Ask them about "Mates Rates" if you do.

Unfortunately not, I will double check with my mates though I know one of them used to work for sky, he may have jumped ship....
