A fitter is coming out to upgrade my package from normal Sky to Sky+HD at the weekend. I have had normal Sky (no Sky+) for nearly 10 years, so I'm pretty certain it is a single lnb on my dish. Will the fitter only fit a twin lnb as standard to feed the +HD box or will he fit a quad? Reason I ask is that I have a Freesat decoder in the tv and it would be handy for football on ITV HD (not on Sky HD_.
Or is it worth trying to contact the fitter to request a quad lnb as Sky are being as unhelpful as usual?

You can get ITV HD on sky by adding it as a channel.

I thought they added quad LMBs with HD. (mine has a quad but i do have HD and multiroom)

As you have Freesat in the TV a quad LNB is the route to take. 2 feeds for the Sky+ box, 1 for the TV leaving a spare to connect a freesat feed into another room

I thought ITV used an odd symbol rate or such for ITV HD that wasn't selectable in the SKY boxes...?

Have to add itv hd in manually. Then once youve done that to watch it you need to find the section which has other channels.

Press services on your remote
Go to add channel and put this information in
11.427
H
2/3
27500

When you have added the above information, to watch the channel, you have to press services, then other channels and it will be listed there, under the id 10510

Oh and Im pretty sure the standard lnb for sky hd is a quad

I haven't even seen a twin in ages, but just in case ask, he/she will happily put a quad up.

Totally agree, just ask. My installer kindly put an oct-lnb on for me.

Thanks for the replies. As I thought, my Sky dish was as old as the hills and the lnb had one connection only. The fitter (when he eventually arrived) was as good as and fitted a brand new dish with quad lnb and ran a new line for my freesat decoder as well as fitting the shotgun cable for the Sky+HD.
I now have spare socket on the lnb if I feel the need to install my original Sky box in the kitchen for Free to Air.
