I had a 3d super woofer too but I can't find a photo, it had twin tapes and a three way equaliser.

I only got rid of it last year, it was working perfectly but I hadn't used it for a long time.

Goodmans Powermaster - until it was stolen. 3D subwoofer, seven (count them!) band equaliser and megawatts of power (as I recall).

Can't find a picture of it, but it was a beaut.

I can't remember the make (might have been Sharp) but I had one that had detachable speakers and the body (tuner and tape player) could be separated and put side-by-side like a "proper" stereo system.

Edit: Having thunk about it, I'm now pretty sure it was a Sony, as I remember buying a record deck that sat on top. It was the same size as the body, with the spindle for the centre of the record at the bottom left corner, so that a 12" single/album would stick out of the player like a circular saw.

I had one of those too! Sadly is was stolen out the back of my Capri while playing snooker in Brighton.

I also had a Sharp GF777 which I used to use when I was doing installs as a works radio. The tapes didn't work and it was covered in paint. Now, and in good condition, it would be worth about £1000 yikes

I had a newer Hitachi 3D superwoofer but a smaller model with a switch on the front to turn the superwoofer on or off. Still around somewhere iirc

I had a Sharp twin deck unit with detachable speakers, 5 segment level indicator and a line in to allow the matching record deck to be attached, which I also had. Cannot for the life of me remember the model number though. It lasted until a couple of years ago as I used it as my computer audio system.

I had a JVC PC W150. My mate thought it was funny to call it a PC Wiso, which really irritated me. One on Ebay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JVC-PC-W150-PORTABLE-GHETTO-...

Detachable speakers, high speed dubbing for copying the Top 40, and something called Super Bass Horn. It was quite loud and made Metallica sound very good.

I had a 3D Super Woofer too, and I am ashamed to admit that I did carry it through the street listening to Doug E Fresh, Mantronix and Beat Street compilations.

And yes, my mate was carrying some lino.

Smiler.

'scuse me Doug E, 'scuse me Doug E, 'scuse me Doug E Fresh your on, uh uh on, uh on on - cue Inspector Gadget theme tune.

I'd forgotten all about that track - I loved it.

Sadly I killed mine listening to LFO's LFO. It seemed that the super woofer wasn't quite super enough.

MAssive twin tape Amstrad with detachable speakers and removeable tape deck that became a walkman!
Still got it in the garage, albeit with some massive music centre speakers! That site mentions the names Boombox and Ghetto Blaster, but round my way they were known as another type of "Box"!laugh
