TV rear projector bulbs
Discussion
I have a 50in sony rear projector tv which must now be at least 8 years old.
Does the bulb need replacing after a few years or will it give its best until it blows?
The picture is fine as far as I can tell but will a new bulb brighten or sharpen up the picture, or should I remove and clean it?
If so where is the best place to order?
Thanks

They usually have a recommended lamp life, there may be a timer in the service menu somewhere? Best to change them before they blow as they can explode and cause damage, will also brighten up the image! TBH 8 years is very good going! Usually they last up to 8,000 hours however this is dependant on how many times they are switched of and on.
