During the free ESPN weekend I noticed how much much better the ESPN HD pic was compared with Sky Sports HD( I'm talking football generally). Is it known to be a stronger signal or something else? Was wathcning through a 60" kuro via Sky if that's relevant?

I agree, ESPN HD and Eurosport HD usually look far better than Sky Sports HD.

Oz Open tennis looks stunning.

Yep - I have to agree - I've been underwhelmed by the HD picture from Sky Sports channels since I got HD a month ago.

Last night I flicked between Sky Sports 2 & Sky Sports 2 HD whilst watching the Spurs v Fulham match and could barely tell the difference. There *IS* a difference but Sky's promotion of it as "Majestic HD" is, frankly, a load of cobblers.

Films, Cartoons and even BBC dramas (Being Human) etc appear to show the difference between HD & non-HD far more.

I also agree.

I watch a lot of Italian football, the picture quality on ESPN is far superior. Although I dothink Sky One HD is very good and is on a par with 4HD and BBC HD.

I may well consider a return to VTV at the end of my Sky contract as I also like their On Demand service.

That's interesting, I've got Virgin and the quality of the Sky football in SD on it is much poorer than ESPN in SD, ESPN in HD is fantastic though.
