Thanks for the input guys, but it has made me more confused. The Surround sound I'm looking at has DVD built in. Costs about £120. If I look at a blu ray surround sound it costs about £600. WTF???
Could I get the £200 DVD one then plug a blu ray player in that costs £120 ?
My present set up is a CRT telly with a dvd/video player attached to a surround sound system that is just sound, no player included.

My TV is an LG and the only audio output on it is optical. Looks like the TV you mention only has optical output aswell. The surround sound I bought has an optical input but many of the lower priced setups dont have an optical input.
It ok though because whatever sound comes from the TV will come through the surround sound.
So yes you could add a blue ray player and the sound would come through the surround sound.
Hope that makes sense.
