Anybody got one? Allegedly these are wonderous giant killing beasties all for under £200.
Currently running a Musical Fidelity X DAC.
Sources are Pioneed PDS902. Squeezebox, Humax 9200, NAD DVD and Panasonic Blu Ray.
All sources seem to be sounding a bit rubbish lately, even using proerly recorded CDs.
As this DAC is getting pretty ancient now and only has 2 inputs i'm wondering if this is in with a chance?
Amplificataion is Exposure XX integrated and Rega Jura speakers.

It's worth considering the Cambridge Audio DacMagic.

The Bereford is very good but be aware that there are a lot of 'Stanley' (Beresford) fans out there who all claim his stuff is wonderful. He also registered himself a number of times on hifiwigwam and then used these accounts to sing his own praises. All of this is well documented on that forum.

So, great Dac but I no longer trust
him.

I'm considering a DacMagic btw

Any other suggestions?
Need at least 3 inputs and preferably USB for PC.

The main point here about the Bereford DAC is its number of inputs. On that basis it's worth a punt as generally it has a good reputation. Whether it can beat a Chord DAC64 or Naim DAC is pointless in this case as they are going to be at least £1000 and £2000 to buy currently and in the case of the Chord don't have the inputs. It is also likely to be an improvement on the X-DAC as it is newer so providing you can obtain one for the right money give it a go!

I use an MF X-DAC V8 which has 3 inputs plus USB. All the SPDIF inputs are coaxial though, no optical ones. But it sounds lovely.

Can't comment on the Beresford; wading through the eulogising on hi-fi forums, it is impossible to tell how many are shills put up to it by Stanley Beresford and how many are real, if any. He has been banned from a few forums for his marketing technique. But he does give a money-back guarantee, I believe, so you could try it risk-free.

Yes, Beresford offer a money back guarantee however be careful as he deducts postage from this amount.

He doesn't make you aware of this on the site an legally he has to refund the full amount (distance selling and all that)

I've got the CA Dacmagic and would definitely recommend it. Bargain at £200 odd quid.

Cambridge DAC magic with the non-combustible power supply for me.

Has USB input, and two others, either optical or electrical, sounds perfectly fine.

Another vote for dacmagic. Excellent bit of kit. If you need more performance out of it take it to these guys http://www.audiocominternational.com/product_info....

Been using them for years for various parts. Very professional.
