I appreciate this isn't the most exciting of questions, but I'd really value the help/input of you chaps. In addition, I don't know how to write it without looking either really skint (in the context of AV forum land) or too rich for a University student, so please try not to hate me!

Basically I have a basic TV setup in the bedroom, just a 26" TV, DVD player, Wii and Xbox360. The TV currently sits on a chest of drawers, and the other stufff on the desk next it, with my PC. We are having a shift around the house and the desk and PC is moving downstairs, meaning I need a TV stand.

Problem is, I'm upgrading the TV in the summer (birthday should soften the cost blow) to something larger, either 32" or 37", which makes choosing a stand quite tricky.

I need the stand to be at least 70cm high, so most are out already. I looked at buying a Hifi stand and putting the TV on top which would be fine for now, but bugger me right up if I bought a 37" TV.

And then there's the budget. I can't go much above £150, which doesn't get me a lot really, does it?

Any suggestions? I've spent far too much time searching fruitlessly over the last few days and have come up with nothing that suits my purpose.

Any suggestions much appreciated. smile

Understood regarding 70cm requirement being an issue ~ without resorting to expensive bespoke gear, IMHO the best cost effective option would be a convetional stand on a 20cm high platform of some kind.........do you know a friendly art student who could get creative disguising some breeze blocks ? Maybe bond rubber car floormats on the breeze blocks to stop the stand slipping off ?.

That's a great suggestion actually. smile Sadly my networking skills leave a lot to be desired and I know of no one arty! I'll look into it though...

TNT Flexy Rack?

Here's one I made earlier:

Four bits of threaded rod, mdf cut to size and lot's of nuts and washers and your sorted. That one is 1m high with the wood 600mm x 600mm

For added support you could add a centre brace if required.

I got the mdf from B&Q (had them cut it to size) then got the local timber/carpentery place to drill the holes, cut the recess and sort out the edges.
