Hi All,

Just thought I would put my 2p's worth in!

Anyway we purchased a new AV system over Christmas and the above TV was my choice, in the budget range I was looking at.

I got it at £600 and to be fair the TV is excellent. The picture quality through HD is brilliant and even at SD all my friends have said...."that looks excellent". One person even mentioned that the picture looks as if you are in the film....at standard definition !!

So anyone looking tospend sub £700 on LCD....this has to be a contender. Lots of control and inputs etc.

cheers

Yep, 200Hz for under £700 isn't bad at all.

How're you finding the sound quality though? :S

I picked up an LG 50PS3000 for £719 (including a five year warranty) back in December and we're very pleased with it.

A few tweeks via some settings I found on avforums and it looks great.

Sources are Virgin V+ and LG Blu-Ray player all fed via an Onkyo 605 amp.

To be honest the sound quality is not great. Probably the only thing that dos let it down a little. it is not bad but not great either.

I purchased a Onkyo 5.1 av system and speak package.

I've got the 47LH5000 and still think it's very good, despite every time I come on here and read a thread with Plotters or Der, feeling like I've bought a Kia Picanto.laugh

Onkyo 507 amp with Kef 1005.2 speakers, my solution to the sound issue.

I think the Pana P600 was the last flat panel TV to have decent sound quality but it was hardly what you could call a slimline set. Sound quality is always poor on a flat panel TV due to the lack of space in the cabinet to house a decent speaker setup.

Wow - you can get it from £609 hereyikes

Would that be overkill for a PC gaming monitor? Dell want £1300 for a 32" and at that price you could buy two!

Bear in mind that will need to come from France (i've brought from Pixmania in the past without any issues) and you'll get charged for delivery. The TV was £650.00 in Richer Sounds (make sure you get the latest price off their website) and we went with the five year guarantee which brought the total to £719.00

I've got my MediaPC plugged in via HDMI running 1080P with a slight zoom and it looks fine. You do get a small amount on image rentention if you're on a menu for a long period etc but that soon disappears.

Personally I wouldn't want to use it as a PC monitor (word processing etc) but for watching movies stored on the MediaPC it's great (I don't do anything else on the box apart from use it for music and films).

Bought a 60" LG plasma about 3 years ago from Dixons online - fantastic picture, and Sky HD and Bluray look superb. Like Iceboy, I've just bought an Onkyo 5.1 with HDMI inputs and HDMI output to TV - they really are great value for money as well. Finally managed to get hold of an active sub, which completes my setup. Looking forward to viewing Bluray of Watchmen tonight!

LG make some solid goods, usually very reliable and excellent value for money.

Really pleased with mine. I've got the LG BD360 as well.

That and the Virgin V+ are plugged into an Onkyo 605 via HDMI (with an HDMO lead between the amp and TV) and the MediaPC is directly into the TV via the 2nd HDMI port.

I've also picked up a Logitech Harmony One to control it all. I've got a couple of niggles to sort out (Swithing inputs on the TV from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and then back to HDMI1) but i'm sure i'll get it sorted.

It's nice to get rid of the five remotes controls that we always getting lost.
