I've got a Panny TH37P60B that is connected to Sky HD via HDMI. Is there anyway to force the TV to go straight to HDMI1 when I switch it on? It always goes to channel 6 (I think) and it's really annoying having to change it every time.

(Also have a Wii connected via Component and an XBox360 connected to HDMI2 - don't know if that relevant at all but thought I'd mention it!)

Panasonics have an option in the menu called 'Power on preferance' it has 2 options. TV and AV.

If you select TV then it will power on to its own tuner, if you select AV then it will power on to what ever AV source is active at that time and if non are active it will go to its tuner.

There have been issues with HDMI CEC and not seing an active HDMI device as active, but thats more the fault fo the HDMI device and not the tv. Anyways that the option you are looking for.

If that does fail you can of course set a macro on your sky r/c so it will go to the relevant AV input whenever you hit the SKY button.

Thanks for that - I wasn't aware that you could do a macro on the Sky remote!

Yup, from memory you can set a max of 4 key presses ( the help button on the sky r/c has the av function)

Firstly you have to set up the sky remote so it operates the TV's volume.

So press TV, then select and red until the led blinks twice
key in 0051
press standby - if the tv turn off then press select
if the tv dosent turn off press tv then standby, keep doing this until the tv does turn off then press select.

Then to set a macro,

Press select and green until the led blinks twice
(key in your macro) in your case just press help

So now whenever you press SKY or any of the Blue menu buttons on the top of the remote then it will tell the TV to swich to AV (with your TV being a panasonic it will go to whatever av you used last)

Not a perfect solution but better than nothing if the HDMI switching dosent work.

Sorted it by digging out the Panny remote and swapping the 'Power On' option to AV, as per your suggestion beer
