My brother in law and I both had a Sky free for a year deal that started Christmas 2008.

I decided to stop as I did not want to pay £23/month for all the packs but he just left his alone.

He tells me that Sky are now only taking £13/month out of his account which seems a hell of a bargain. Worth the Sky+ functions alone.

I have just called Sky, thinking that they would be glad to welcome me back and I was told that I would not have to take up a new 12 month contract but the cost would be £23/month.

I said that I could not afford that but they would not budge.

Anyone else getting all the packages for £13/month and is it worth calling back and speaking to a different guy. (Works with Orange) biggrin ?

Cheers.

I suspect he is getting a £10 a month discount on the + bit (they stopped charging me for + after a year which was £10)

Cannot see how he can be paying that much without it being an oversight, minimum was £23 for us

You used to be able to pay them about £10 a month to make sky plus work on the free channels, but you won't get any of the subscription channels for that.

Cheapest we could get was £17 for Sky + with no optional channels. The channel selection at that price was so dire that we eventually got rid of Sky and bought a Freesat HD PVR.

I took the card out just before cancel day, about 2 weeks ago, and stuck it back in yesterday and hey! all the channels and Sky+ are back.

Can't believe that will last.
