Morning all.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my kit and after buying a new Marantz NR1501 amp, i'm looking to sort some discrete (wife friendly) speakers out.

I'm not fussed about the extra cost to be honest but is it really worth spending the extra £500 or so on the Gallo or Monitor options?

If anyone has any first hand / ear experiences of any of these speaker systems, i'd greatly appreciate any feedback you could give me.

I have used quite a few of the little Jamo 105 on installs where the client wants discrete rather than performance and I am always pleasantly supprised by their performance.

For a simple, discrete system that works rather than performs then they are a good bet.

I've long been a big fan of the Gallos.

Obscenely wife friendly too.

another vote for Gallos ...true hi-fi quality in a small package ...the original wife friendly speaker that audiophiles dont turn their nose up at smile

...i run an all Gallo setup...reference series though, I have heard the nucleus/Adiva/Duo though, and all are impressive, its just about how big your room is and how loud you want it

I've got the Jamo A102's. I've had them a couple of years ago (powered by an Onkyo 605) and i'm very pleased with them.

Nice and discreet (and wife friendly)!

Ignore the centre speaker, i've just changed the TV so need to refit the centre speaker properly (extend cable and rehang on the wall).

The room is 3m x 4m and sounds pretty good.

I know i shouldn't but i can't help being a bloke about this - Gallo's it is.

Next question, any decent retailers out there for this kit?

+ 2. Santa Plotloss brought me a nice shiny set of 5.1 Micro Ti speakers for Christmas. Considering their size they are bloody excellent. My wife also approves as when she came home after I'd installed them she didn't realise they'd arrived.

I was even impressed with their musical ability - Miles Davis has never sounded so good.
