Hey folks,

I've got a Dell 3400MP projector which has decided to die. The lamp light came on, and a bit of Googling led me to believe that this was a blown bulb. Managed to get a replacement for it, changed it over and the problem is still the same... so maybe its not the bulb!

Anyone know of a reputable repair company I can send it to?

Alternatively, anyone got an old projector gathering dust they'd like to donate to a youth organisation?

Have you tried looking for air filters? It could be overheating due to lack of air flow, mine will do this if I don't keep the filter clean. Just not quickly after a good few hours.

It also needs the counter resetting. An old projector I had did this, switch it on and it would switch straight off to prevent the bulb from blowing (something that apparently should be avoided due to the (un)likelihood of the bulb exploding, I've never had one go, they make a bang mind just not spread glass all over the projector) I didn't have the remote and couldn't find the option to do it without it!

To recap, reset the counter, clean any filters and try again! Failing that I do have an old epson tw10 that I'm going to be selling soon, it'll only fetch a couple of hundred quid I expect if this would be cheap enough for your organisation?
