Had Sky+ installed today, but we're currently getting the above message when viewing BBC1, BBC2, ITV, but most Sky channels are fine, as is Dave.

Now, normally I'd phone Sky and shout at them, but I just want to check first that this isn't just the weather affecting the signals and that everyone else can still get channels fine on Sky?

funny I just stumbled across this post just as the mrs went outside to see why our sky signal was breaking up. She just took a broom to the dish and knocked the snow off. Works fine now. Might be soemthing like that? We do live in a bungalow though which makes it easier...

Knock the snow off - it'll work.

We had no signal earlier - it's the snow. Be careful of knocking the dish, if you whack it out of alignment you'll lose signal snow or no snow!

We live in a block of flats, with a communal dish and I think the dish is in the roof. Currently watching Comedy Central with a perfect signal, but nothing on BBC. Weirdly enough we get FX fine, but not FX+!

The other problem is that this flat hasn't had a telephone line connected yet (Sky doing that in a week or so), so we can't get any updates for the Sky box through the phone line yet, so could be down to that too...

Off to phone Sky I think.

Before you phone India go into the services menu and check the signal strength and quality on both feeds. I had this problem a little while ago and my dish had gone slightly out of line. Luckily I was well within the warranty period and a nice man put it right the next day.

If you have poor signal quality you could also have a shagged box.......some installations are farmed out to 3rd parties and they have been known to use "old" boxes on a new install to save themselves a few bob.

Indeed, as the lady from Sky just told me!

They've put it down to the weather...
