TV with Freesat HD and existing Sky box
Discussion
I would be grateful for some help... Looking to change over our exisitng tube TV to a flat Panosonic G15 with a freesat built in. We use a basic sky box with normal cable from ths dish. Keen on a built in freesat HD. Can we still use the exisiting sky box as well as the builtin freesat HD?
Do we need two cables from the sat dish? how does it all work where does the dish cable go? to the tv or to the sky box?
thanks

Yes you can, just use the Sky Box as you do now ie on an AV channelsuperlightr said:

You will need to have a cable to the SKY box and one to the TV from the LNB on the Sat Dish, providing the LNB has 2 ports.Edited by igiveup on Monday 4th January 22:24
You would need a dual or quad LNB (the bit fitted to the centre of the Sky dish). One lead to your sky box, another lead to your TV freesat input.
Quad LNBs are cheap enough that it would be better to get one rather than a dual as it would allow you the option of adding Sky plus or a free PVR at a later date.

Prolly not a help if you already have the sat receiver but I use a single sat feed to a Freesat PVR (Humax) that has a loop through (esentially a sat output) that connects to a Freesat enabled Tele. Not sure I'd be able to record one thing while watching another (at least with diferent polarities) but have never wanted to...
