If you're watching using Sky+ / SkyHD, when it does it wind back live TV and see if it does it at the same point again. If it does, then its on the box and a momentary degradation of signal. It happens to ours occasionally, I notice it more on the bigger (42") TV we have now compared to the old 28" CRT it replaced, simply because a bigger screen means you'll see more imperfections.

Sorry re-red the OP.
I assumed he was talking about the pixelation people complain about when going from an old tube set to something more modern.
Anything intermittent, providing its across a similar scene is more likely to be upstream of the set.
