I dont want to spend a fortune, so this one seems a good price for a 50" screen.

Anyone have any opinions on it? looking for a 50" screen with 100hz and this one seems good value at £950

I've just picked up an LG 50PS3000 for £650. I would have got the Panasonic TXP50G10B but it was outside out budget!

Very pleased with the LG. Looks good on SD (some channels are better than others) and HD is excellent.

The G10 is a very good choice, quite a few threads on here recommending it if you have a bit of a hunt around.

Ive got the 42" version and I'm really pleased with it.

Just been visiting a family friend today and they have this model in the 50" size. I was impressed by it (considering the 46G15 myself) so much so that I can't really see what the G15 would give me over his G10. The only thing we couldn't figure (and bear in mind I've had a few beers whilst there smile ) is why it has an ethernet connection. The G10 can't play using Viera Cast like the G15 (for what that's worth) so not sure what the purpose of the ethernet connection is on the G10.

I think a 'G10 combined with the '750 BluRay/HDD/Freesat recorder would make a nice setup, with only needing a separate AV amp and my video processor (needed for my projector rather than the TV) would really trim down on all the boxes currently in my rack.

Im pretty sure that the G15 is the G10 but with the added Viera Cast functionality. Apparently the ethernet on the G10 is for applications from broadcasters to enable greater interactivity and added features for freesat services.. apparently :P

Yup, the ethernet port is required to meet the Freesat specifications I believe, for future services like iPlayer integration etc.

The G15 also has 4 HDMI ports rather than 3 on the G10, if you plan to connect loads of different devices.

Sounds like the G10 would do me fine then, not bothered about Viera Cast and the extra HDMI would be wasted as all my HDMI switching is done at my amp to a single cable upto the TV (already chased into the wall). Can't beat seeing TVs in a home environment to be really sure how they will look. I think this was more impressive than my Dad's Sony 40Z5500 I saw last weekend, the 46" version of which was a potential buy for me as a Plasma alternative.
