Do they exist?

Would they look st? Obviously this is dependent on the size of the speaker....

Problem with my room set-up is that free-standing speakers next to my TV would have to be at different heights. Is this an issue?

Depends on your system....Have manufactured various brackets that attach to the screen wall mount holes in a T format to enable front left and right as well as centre to sit below.

If you have a BOSE system [Gosh....hell will freeze over!] then they sell a bracket for the 2 speaker units....321 etc

Interesting....

I have not actually bought the system yet but have a Pio KRL37 and planning on buying the Onkyo HTX22d in the next 6 months. Speakers are pretty compact so would not look too ridiculous I would imagine.

How about this, http://www.qacoustics.co.uk/q-tv/q-tv2.htm

Getting good write ups and a college has heard it and was very positive.

Why would you want them attached to the TV; it isn't likely to be optimal.

I'd consider 'nailing' them to the wall behind, preferably out of line-of-sight.

Yes, but my TV is in a corner and my seating area is not directly in front requiring me to turn my TV at an angle to view it. Therefore if I attached speakers to the wall they would be firing sound out towards nobody.
