Morning all,

we are today moving house....well theres nothing else to worry about this week, ice covered roads, work to be completed for xmas presents for people, oh, the wife to buy for.. no problem, lets move today! smile

But, after speaking to sky india, it seems i cant get sky installed fora few weeks. There is no dish there, so can i use my existing box for any freeview, and will it save my stuff i have recorded prior to today?

Thanks

SS2.

You Sky+ recordings will be OK.

But you'll need to a dish to be able to watch any 'live' TV through the Sky box - including the free channels.

Might be an idea to go and buy a cheap and cheerful Freeview box (assuming there is a compatible TV aerial at the new property) to see you throigh until Sky is installed.

Best of luck with the move - and I admire you for doing it 2 days before Christmas !!

You won't get any channels if the house doesn't have a dish. Not sure about the pre recorded stuff though.

You could use Sky Player on a computer if you need to. I think you need a multiroom account though or pay a bit more for it.

When I cancelled my Sky subscription before moving, all my pre-recorded stuff on the HD box was wiped the day my contract ended.

Oh, and probably too late, but it is worth cancelling and signing up again rather than moving your subscription - I got £150 cashback from quidco, £50 M&S vouchers from Sky and obviously a new box as a new customer.

Surprised. When I quit sky my sky+ recordings were still there but I couldn't view them. When I resubscribed a year or so later I was able to play them.
