I use this which works well enough. Don't forget the leads as well though...

I know this isn't really what you asked for, but may be an option for you.

Personally I can't understand the obsession with plugging an ipod, or especially an iphone into an amp. You don't have the phone handy if it rings or you get a message, and if you go out no one else has access to the music, which is normally on a computer in the house somewhere anyway.

My preference is to run itunes on the computer, plug an airport into the amp to stream to, and use the remote app on the iphone to control what I listen to. To my mind it's a much more flexible solution which only costs about £80 for the airport.

Granted it means the PC running which not everyone will want. This isn't an issue in our house as I use an Apple TV n the main room, and stream to the airports from that

That's very expensive for the Apple dock!

I agree! Didn't see the price when I posted the link... think I paid £20 for mine (from PC World). Was definitely less than that one for the dock and cables...

Bought a 'pure' dock, got it home and found out it will not charge my iphone only an ipod!!
So as a make do over Christmas I will just leave it on charge via mains as normal and use the £2 headphone to phono cable instead!
Look at getting the Apple dock in new year I think

Thanks

Yep...the iDock does constantly charge the iPod...as does the Kanto AV sound dock mentioned elsewhere on this forum. I believe the Kanto device interface is approved by Apple.

Was £20 for a UNIVERSAL dock? You can get iPhone docks for about £20 granted but the universal ones I've never seen for less than £30, let alone delivery etc. If you have the iPhone one then you can't plug in ipods etc. which many people want to do.
