TX-P42X10B / TX-P42S10 noticeable difference?
Discussion
Yes, this is another "What TV" thread, but with what the marketing mongs call a twist.
I've spent the last week immersing myself in the confusion that is flat panel specifications, and have narrowed the choice to the two Panasonic models named in the title.
My usage will be (in order of relevance):
TX-P42X10B - this is HD ready 1080i at 100Hz
TX-P42S10 - this is Full HD 1080p at 400Hz (and £120 more)

I've spent the last week immersing myself in the confusion that is flat panel specifications, and have narrowed the choice to the two Panasonic models named in the title.
My usage will be (in order of relevance):
- Freeview viewing (I don't want to suffer ghosting/pixellation on fast moving stuff)
- PS3 games (mostly/totally Gran Turismo)
- Playing stuff recorded on an LG PVR from Freeview (SCART connection)
- Standard (pre recorded) DVD viewing - via LG PVR
- Occasional Blu-Ray viewing - via PS3
TX-P42X10B - this is HD ready 1080i at 100Hz
TX-P42S10 - this is Full HD 1080p at 400Hz (and £120 more)
- Question 1: for my usage, will I notice any difference between the two at my viewing distances? Is the more expensive set worth it?
- Question 2: When would I notice a difference between the two sets?
- Question 3: "2,000,000:1 Contrast" - am I having my plonker pulled here? LCDs are generally ~10,000:1.
- Question 4: is digitaldirect.co.uk DeR's shop? Does one contact him via his PHmail to make a purchase with possible "special PH price", or just mention PH when ordering over the phone/interweb? I feel dirty just asking the question
