Whilst in John Lewis today getting annoyed at the saleswoman saying "Well if it has 5 speakers it's certainly 5.1" to a customer and then failing to describe what the difference was between 1080 and 720 was "HD makes everything 4 times better" rolleyes

In the midst of my annoyance the wife looked at a Panny 32" screen and said "Shall we get that for the bedroom" Which might not sound like much of a statement, but to say that my good lady is not impulsive when it comes to spending money on toys would be an understatement!

The screen in question was this one Panasonic TX-L32G10B and I like it because it has a freesat tuner in and our bedroom has an output of the LMB going to it, plus our aerial seems to be a landing site for the local pigeon Watch Watchers club as it's forever being broken!

So, my question, what's the best 32" screen out there and is it better to get a cheaper screen and an HD freesat reciever? I'm not interested in it having a HDD)

I like the Panasonic myself. Marks and Spensers are doing a free Blu-Ray player worth £220 with that set at the moment. JL probably will as well. Then again, Amazon are £150 cheaper.

The Sony V series isn't a bad bet either.

I chose between the sony v series and a panny, pretty much that same tv but without freesat, and just preferred the panny, not a lot in it though. Really happy with it, hd looks awesome on it. The epg takes a bit of getting used to though, (not an issue as ours is hooked up to virgin) apart from that it's great.

I've been looking at the new Samsung LED TV's recently, the UE32B6000 looks fantastic. For picture only, I couldn't see anything better in the shop.

Hmmm, I'm never taken on Sony.

But it's quite interesting to see how it's only £15 cheaper than a Panasonic 50" screen!

Do they make the same screen but without the freesat part in it?

Yes but it's not worth not having it plus a little voice tells me a 5 year warranty exists on the FreeSat models. Honest, I've been comparing this with the Panasonic V10 LCD PQ.

So a free 4 year warranty on top of the Sony 1 year warranty? Is that what the little voice is telling you?

Also, how does the trade in work?
