Mission 700 Speakers
Discussion
I've an old set of Mission 700 speakers finished in Black Ash, but unfortunately due to years of neglect the main speaker element foam has perished to the point of being knackered. Should I look to refurb them with new tweeters and woofers (or obvoiusly the correct component names ) or just use them for firewood/storage boxes? They are not in pristine condition but I'd consider them good for their age.
The decal on the front says 'Mission 700'.
The info on the rear of the speaker is:
They both have the same serial numbers: 10200196
Front image:
The main element is about 5 7/8" across from inside edge of the foam to same on other side.
Any help?

Sorry thats the original type, incedentally much bette speakers. Prett sure these used SEAS drivers. Mission used to b very good for spare on old kit or try Wilmslow audio.
Although these pretty decent budget speakers in their day their day was around 1982 so could probably be bettered for not much on eBay etc.

I had 770's (or 707's) and the materials perished exactly the same way. I bought them for £150 back in 1981/2 and just skipped them last year. Refurb was gonna be too much.
Definitely wasn't the 770s. They still sell for half decent money now.(or if it was you got a bargain for £150 as they would sell for more than that now).
