Its for my Father so nothing too complicated, also he requested one you do not have to connect to a computer to make it work..

I was going to recommend a Logitech Harmony but they require setting up on a computer. Can you not set it up for him?

I have the Harmony 885. It wasn't that cheap at the time, however it's nearly 3 years old, easy to use, and bloody reliable. I set it up on day one which was really easy, and it's not missed a beat since (and thats with Rory using it too!). Couldn't recommend it highly enough biggrin

see if you can find a old cambridge audio m1+ superb bit of kit and you just program all the remotes in from the bottom sensor.

i gave my dad my old one years ago and its still going strong
