Hi All,

I have decided to treat myself to a new LCD TV !

The biggest question I have is what size do I need..?...This will be in the family room so kids will watch it....the remote will take a bashing and the screen will be used about 3-4 hours a day.

The sofa is 12ft from the wall where the TV will hang off. I don't want something too big so the picture quality looks rubbish ?

So am I right in thinking 40-42" is the right size or could I go for 46" ?

I want to make sure that from this distance, the piture quality is good through standard definition.

Cheers

PS....LG42LH5000 looks a bargin with that spec right ?

Simply put, if your concerned about SD playback quality, then you'll only be looking at the like of the Panasonic 50X10 or G10 if you fancy pulling the sofa closer on the occasions you're putting a B-R movie through it, and want to appreciate the extra detail provided by the combo.

Why only the Panny Plasma? Or why only Panny as a brand?
Either way, for the sort of budget the LG you mentioned runs at, it's the best vfm telly on the market at the moment.
