Which BF 50" or 52" panel?
Discussion
Hello
Im totally clueless about this having been out of the telly loop for the 10 years since I last bought one
I need a new TV
The only thing I do know is that I want a 50 or 52" one being fortunate enough in having a room to accommodate
I'll be using it to watch Sky HD and Bluray mostly
I have no idea what else you do with big telly's but it would be nice to plug my laptop into it to look at photos if not do this wirelessly
My main confusion is the amount of choice
It would be so much easier if there was only one telly this size but each manufacturer makes lots at each price and size point
So how do you decide??
If it helps I have small kids who are prone to not being nice to tellys and leaving them paused on Sky + while they go and beat each other up
And yes I have tried avforums but Im still needing help
LED/plasma/etc etc etc all assistance welcomed
Cheers!
So long as you set the Plasma up correctly - reduce contrast and brightness substantially for first 200 hours, your littl'uns won't destroy the TV whilst trying to destroy each other.
As for size - with the source material, 50" makes most sense on a Panasonic G/V10, presuming you'll be sitting 8ft from it, to appreciate the additional detail present in the B-R movies.
If you're quite a bit further from it than that, then 60" is the size you'll need, short of a projector and motorised screen for cinema duty, and a regular 42X10 for normal telly use.

Re: the laptop, trying to do it by wireless would complicate things astronomically, but if the laptop has a DVI-monitor-out on it then it's a simply DVI to HDMI lead/(Or HDMI lead with a DVI plug converter on one end), if the laptop has VGA monitor out most panels do have VGA inputs but do check.
