Its a Sony ,so the only thing to think about is whether its the spec you want.

They are well respected LCD TV's. I have the 40W4000 and it's excellent, I've not seen another telly with a picture I like more.
Use an online price comparison site to check that you're not paying over the odds, and check out a couple of review sites online to find out about any competitors you might like more.

I wallmounted one yeaterday, looked nice, plenty of features not sure if its much different to the W series except these are 200Hz. I still havent seen the GuidePlus working as it takes 24 hours to set its self up!

Check out the Panasonic TX-P42V10 plasma, Cheaper, higher contrast, faster response time (makes sport clearer!) 600hz processing! longer panel lifespan, FreeSat HD built in, better warranty
if bought from a Panasonic Independant dealer, Better looking IMO and slimmer to boot.

A brilliant set i'm sure others on here will agree..

Really?

I have a 50" Panasonic G10 - which I understand is a slightly lesser model. That certainly doesn't have a viewing angle problem, so I'm surprised to hear the V10 does.

Sorry mate it's the complete opposite actually Plasmas don't suffer any viewing angle problems
at all, the only LCD panels that don't suffer the problem use IPS technology and Sony doesn't
(they use Samsung panels) IPS is actually a Panasonic patent shared with Hitachi and Toshiba!

The Sony panels all have noticeable issues with viewing angles and patchy backlighting....

Nope - Plasmas tend to have a greater off-axis viewing contrast ratio than LCD does. Whether the Sony is one, I'm not sure, but then again, how often would you actually sit down to properly watch something way off axis?
Bit of a non-point to raise in all honesty, but something the marketing dept would cling to, to add yet another reason to buy their product rather than a competitor's.

Thats what i get for half reading a post, the pana LCD has the viewing angle problem NOT the plasma.
Also plenty of people sit off axis to watch their TV's, i install them for a living and you would be suprised how strange some people have their living rooms set out. Like this Sony we are talking about, it was wallmounted above the couch!! Why there i asked.... 'becuause we sit over there on the chair, we dont sit on the couch'. Well that suprised me.
