Genuine upgrade to Sky TV/satellite-vested interest alert
Discussion
I have been experimenting with a means to get better sound and picture from my Sky box. So far Ive found replacing the mains cable makes for the most impressive improvement. (So too does a decent mains filter.) I recently sold both to a Lambourgini dealer in Edinburgh who was happy with the improvement on his Virgin Box and his Blu Ray-this is what he said:"worked on the Blu Ray and Processor.Virgin Box as well. Just need to figure out how I'm gonna pay for the bigger version."(of the mains filter)
The mains cable in my higher end AV set up is the Ecosse Big Red GR8 (cos its a figure of 8 plug in the end geddit)it retails at £125 inc vat
In my less expensive set up I use the Ecosse Big Orange GR8 at £59.99
I compared them both to Russ Andrews figure of 8 mains cable and natch I though mine did a better job-and yes I have an involvement with Ecosse

Unfortunately RFI does compromise Digital signals. Taking them out of the Power supply does help. On Audio the Chord DAC64 is known for not liking being on the same ring as Fridge Freezers. They also don't like being near florescent lights. The starters being the problem there.

On the big red its an M&K toughplug. I dont have a spec on the figure of 8 plug sorry. However Ive also evaluated the Furutech fig of 8 plug at 3/4 times the price and for the life of me I could not see/hear the difference. Im presuming most of the improvement is down to the Ecosse Monocrystal Copper conductor material, dielectric and insulation but I could be wrong.
