After my bad experience with Comet (see my other post on this forum) I am pleased to be able to relate service of a superb standard.
purchased a Pure digital radio December 2007 (also from Comet!).
This week it went to sleep and wouldn't wake up. No lights, nothing.
Put the meter on the plug that comes from the transformer plug that goes in the back of the radio. No output. As it's 6 volt I connected a 6V lantern battery to the socket in the back of the radio. Radio works fine.
Phoned Pure on an 0845 number to ask if I could buy a new transformer plug, credit card in hand, only had to push one button on the menu, and three rings later a man answered. And he was English!
Explained the above, asked if I knew when I bought it, couldn't remember, give me the serial number he said.
Thats OK, he said, Give me your postcode and I'll get one in the post, obviously in the hands of Royal Mail now!
What a nice man! And how refreshing to find that some companies actually see the value to them of giving good service.
Of course I shall tell everyone about it just as I am doing about Comet

It would be interesting to know what comet would do, try phoning them up with it and see what they say wink

Now if only they would make their firmware updates work on a Mac they'd be perfect!
