Currently, I have a Sky+ box and a regular Sky box in my front-room. The 'normal' box feeds the TV in the kitch via a co-ax which goes outside the house and in again and the cable is buried into the wall in the kitchen. The Sky+ box feeds the TV in the front-romm (and bedroom via Magic Eye)

Am getting SkyHD fitted on Sunday and it will replace the Sky+ box - can I therefore use the Sky+ box for the kitchen and be able to record stuff on that as well? I presume that I may need another LNB?

At present all the cables come from the dish through one hole into the front-room.

Should be able to. I did the same when my other half moved in at our old place . She had a Sky+ and we just replaced my old normal Sky box. You do have to call Sky to get them to pair up the new box and the account.

As you say you will need an extra feed from the dish for the extra tuner on the Sky+. If the current LNB is currently feeding 3 tuners Id guess its a quad so its just a metter of an extra cable down to the living room.

Having just moved house Im waiting for my Sky HD install today ! bounce And Im hoping the rumours that bunging the Sky bloke a few quid will get him to put another feed into the spare/play room for the new Freesat tv !

yep shouldn't be a prob, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you'll need another LNB.

We've got Sky multiroom, one HD box, and one sky+ box, both work as they should and were engineer instlalled so I'm sure they'll sort you out.

Coolio - thanks for that.

Just checked and it looks lie I already have a quad LNB and only 3 lines coming out of it. As I've already paid the £30 'installation fee', Mr. Sky Fitter can run another line down for me for nowt biggrin

You'll need separate subscription for Sky+ - if you don't upgrade the subscription, yor box will just operate as a normal sky box.

You'll need to get the viewing card paired to the new box too.

Nope. I have SkyHD in the lounge and Sky+ in the bedroom. Originally this was Sky+ in the lounge and plain ol' sky in the bedroom.

I have the Sky Multiroom package and I pay an additional £10pcm for HD. No extra cost for Sky+ upstaires.

OP - make sure the job includes a "relocation" and the engineer will be fine about it. If he thinks he's just turning up to install skyHD, he won't do any relocation. You can make sure by confirming with Sky installs team that this is what you want.

Got HD installed today and despite my reservations, I must say it really is extremely good! Manure vs. Chelski this afternoon was so crisp and clear when comparing it to 'regular' Sky.

Also watched a bit of Life on BBC HD just now (the one about fish) and even though I watched it last week, I was spellbound!

The new EPG takes a bit of getting used to but the facility where HD programmes are highlighted in orange is pretty useful.

So, we've now got Sky+ in the kitchen and SkyHD in the front room and bedroom biggrin
