SKY+ HDD Problem

I currently have only 4 programmes recorded (none longer than an hour) and yet my free space is only 47%?

I used to have 2 pages of stuff recorded and have a similar amount of free space??

Do they wear out or do you/can you reformat it?

HD programmes take up much more space, so that might be it.

It could possibly be due to Sky Anytime having a lot of content at the moment.

There is a way of doing a disk health check but I can't remember how.
