Best music download site
Discussion
What is the best site to download and keep music?
I joined Napster but you have to keep subscribing to listen to it, which doesn't make any sense to my old fashioned view of the music industry
I want to pay, download and keep (just like buying a CD online I suppose)
Is this possible or should I just carry on buying CD's?
Thanks - out of touch one!

Is it rude to suggest Itunes?
No, but do you have to have an iPod? What happens if you want to use the music on another system? The idea I have is to create a central hub in my house with all my music and then put it through a network. iTunes seems to limit what hardware / software you use if you want to migrate your music over and play it in a different format.
Or am I wrong??

gomusic.ru is the one I use if buying albums. Usually $3 for an album. The FAQ page states that its fully legal and that they are paying TAX to the russian government (however i suspect it's too cheap to be legal)
If i'm just buying one track from an album I use ITunes.
Interesting - very cheap! If i'm just buying one track from an album I use ITunes.
Ever had any problems with your credit card details on this site?

Really, you should just torrent them for free if you do that. The record companies / artists won't see a single cent from that.If i'm just buying one track from an album I use ITunes.

Off my router I have an external drive with all of my music on. Any computer in the house can stream music.
It works very well for me whether I am listening to my hi-fi where the audio is streamed via wireless at CD quality from the other room, or just on headphones with the laptop.

Just found this:-
www.yourfreemusicdownloads.com
but after signing up it says you have to wait 3-6 weeks for your account to be active. Sounds s a bit fishy to me. They claim to provide freee tracks by selling advertising on the site.
Watch me now get loads of spam!!

Never had any problems with credit card details. A lot of my friends use the site regularly and never have issues. Ever had any problems with your credit card details on this site?
I think at 15c per track its as handy to buy it there than searching for it on a torrent site.
Old skool.
I still buy CD's, I can keep them and rip them and it I suffer a total loss I can just reload them, change format etc etc. Price is the same or lower than most of the d/l sites and seeing as I never need an album instantly I can wait 2-3 days for play to deliver. Totally legal, supports the artist and you can sell on if you get bored later.
I don't buy singles though.
For me to move to downloads I'd need them cheaper, re-d/l for free, drm free and lossless - half the price of physical media.
