Changing to Region1 please

Looks like the Panny has to be chipped according to this link:

I can't find anything on the Proline (apart from a google hit to this page ).
Might be worth trying to see if your PC drive can be changed (usually can change region upto 5 times before it becomes locked in the last selected region).

Cheers, that's about as far as I got...apart from the google hit!
The Lappy route is what I have done to get me out of trouble, I forgot it had a video output until a moment hit
Can anyone recommend a DVD or Blueray/DVD player that is multi region please? It is for work use and I need component or S-VHS outputs to get it into the edit suite. A firewire/1394 output would be even better!

There's a couple on this page around the £50-60 mark. Note sure about them having S-video, you might have to look on the manufacturer's website for further details. However, if you want to get the footage from DVD into an editting suite, you'll be better off just using software on a PC TBH, though this will only work if the disc isn't 'protected' like a comercial one would be.

Note that some DVD recorders have Firewire INPUT connectors, but as far as I know, they don't work as OUTPUTs going back to your Camera, though I stand to be corrected on that one.

An alternative solution to buying a new DVD player would be to download DVD Shrink (it's free) and make a copy of the DVD, copies made on DVD Shrink are region free.
Cheers for the links - I'll get one of those listed.
It is amazing how you can have a digital edit suite and a disc full of 1s and 0s yet to get those into the suite is still a complete bum sometimes!!! Discs with just a single .vob are fine but ones that come from DVD cameras and recorders can be a right pain and it is sometimes just easier to import as a video signal.
