Maximum Sky cable length?
Discussion
Evening all,
In our lounge, we've currently got a Freesat box connected to the satellite dish. Thing is, we'd quite like to be able to hook up an additional Freesat box in another room. That way we can watch and record HD TV in multiple rooms.
I was planning on simply getting a quad LNB and then running cables from our current dish to the new box. Problem is, to get from the location of the dish to the location of where we'd put the new Freesat box, the cable will have to be about 150' long. Is this a problem? Is there a maximum workable length with a Sky cable, as there is with an HDMI cable?
If the length will be too long, then I suppose I could always get an additional dish put up nearer to the site of the new Freesat box. But, that might be tricky due to the direction the signal is received from...
So, can I run 150' of Sky cable without noticeable quality loss, or am I looking at having to have an additional dish?
Cheers
