Hi all,

Stayed in 2 different hotels in weekend and both rooms had samsung tv's.

The 1st was 26inch and I assume lcd, the 2nd was 42inch.

The thing was, everything I watched on them was kind of surreal, like the main characters had the background superimposed behind them or like an 80's tv show. the picture was incredibly clear, b ut also incredibly hadr to watch.

Any ideas why>?

Im guessing either some sort of bad scaling HD or that the sharpness control was up too high?

I used to stay in hotels alot with my old job and if I was staying a few nights I'd usually find out how to get into the menu and adjust the TV....I often found every 'feature' turned on, like all the NR settings, sharpness wound up full, contrast enhancers etc. It's surprising that an initially crap picture can often be set to something much more pleasant, just by turning off the unnecesary processing (which often isn't helped by many hotels weak signals if it's analogue).

I was wondering this exact thing when I was at my cousins house the other week - a 42" LCD - it looked as though everything - movies, sitcoms, etc was filmed on a very high quality camcorder.
