Here's another "am I doing the right thing thread."

I've been looking at getting a new TV and a one box 5.1 system. I don't want to spend much more than a grand, so I thought I'd just check with the PH pro's that I'm getting something decent.

TV-wise, I'm going for a Panasonic TX-P42G10. I'll be using it for Sky HD, Playstation and the Wii. Viewing distance is about 12ft, but I cannot get anything bigger into that space.

For the one box system, I'm looking at the LG HT904TA. It has all the connectivity I want, Optical and HDMI in aswell as out and I'm going to use the playstation as a hub to stream music too via WiFi, well until a spotify program comes along for the PS3.

One thing Der if you read this. I was looking at your site and the Panasonic is very keenly priced and with the 3 year guarantee I'm very, very tempted to get it from you (especially given all the positive reviews you get here) but I want to buy it all in one go and whilst you sell the LG system, it's over £400, but I've found it for £280 elsewhere on-line.

Any comments or ideas greatfully recieved. I'm a bit of novice when it comes to stuff like this.

I got the Sony HT-SS100, i'm no expert but it seems pretty good. The hifi bloke said it was the best for the price? I paid £350.

I'd go for the Sony mentioned above personally. Not only am I a disgusting Sony we but whenever I've heard on of the Sony All-in-One systems I've been VERY impressed. Plus as much as LG stuff has come on (I am very satisfied with my Scarlet LCD telly) I'd say an extra 70 notes or so for a Sony was a pretty good deal. Just make sure it has all the prerequisite inputs and I doubt you'll go far wrong.
