What's the product of choice for me to play stuff on the TV from my
PC, mp3s, avi's etc. Can be wireless or wired RJ45 and I guess s-vhs
to the TV and stereo phono to my AV amp.

The Popcorn Hour A-110 looks good, but is there anything equivalent for cheaper? I was hoping to pay ~£100 ish.

PCH-A110 or a HDX1000

Astonishing value for money really.

what do you think of the C200 from PCH?

what are the current range of media players other than PCH and HDX1000?

Okay then, to be specific, 17th September and thats with no slippage.

Its got a better processor than the A110 which has picqued my interest (as it may have enough ooomf to run SqueezeCenter on it), other than that I'm not interested in the bluray gubbins and the LCD

Depends where you are hosting the files..

on a seperate server / pc, or on the unit thats going to play them.

very cheap solution is an original xbox running xbmc

or, if you've a laptop, give the pc version a try, they do a 'live' cd / usb version now.

costs nothing, and works perfectly smile

Have a look also at an Acer Revo k costs around £170. With Xbmc it'll play 1080p no problem, and the user interface is far more developed than a Popcorn Hour.
