Best way to trade up?
Discussion
I currently have TH37PX80 B Panasonic Plasma.
I am more than happy with the set, but would like the 42" as the room it now occupies is larger than the previous..
Is there a way of p/x ing it? Or any method of trrading up without having to sell it on ebay to some muppet who won't pay?
Thanks

If i were you I would use it in another room. The screen you are looking to buy is only 2.5" bigger either end diagonally so is it really worth changing?
Panasonic are offering a trade in deal until the end of this month on certain models but its really only to attract the old CRT sets. Why not just install in the bedroom???

You could try selling it on AVSForums' classifieds and stipulate cash on collection only. However, they are pretty savvy on their regarding prices so don't expect to get anything close to the new price (I sold a low hours projector on there last year and took a 40% cut for example). I've ended up recycling most of my old kit into other rooms, rather than take the hit and the hassle of selling. However my next upgrade will mean the cost of knocking our kitchen & dinning room into a family room so I can get a bigger TV for the lounge (and move the existing one into the 'new room') so I still haven't nailed the cost saving side of things.

problem is that consumer electronics depreciate faster than cars, with new models every few months coming out
check out the AVforums above to get a price, but id check the cheapest price now (about £400) and then 50% of that, maybe £200, if its mint condition....
To be honest, ive always had a requirement for TVs in other rooms, so every time the living TV got an upgrade, the rest got shuffled around bedrooms, kitchen, gym room etc, so Ive never sold an LCD/Plasma TV yet
