My OH just had one of the radio stations (which displays a black/blank screen) running on our TXP42G10 and asked me if theres any risk of screen burn/ghosting.

Honest answer is I don't know. Is there?

Rather ironically (as it is LCD & less likely to be effected) there is a setting on my TV that will dim the static picture after 5 or 10 minutes. Might be worth checking the manual to see if it has a similar setting. I know people say that plasmas don't suffer burn these days, but I'd rather not tempted fate if it were me.

I'll have a look.

I'm sensible about avoiding burn, I just wondered if when its on a radio station I'm actually receiving a black image or if its just a blank screen...if its the latter, I don't think burn is an issue. If the former I'm wondering if it could be.

Being paranoid but I paid 2/3 over my original planned TV budget when I got the TV...I don't want to ruin it.

I didn't notice the bit about the screen staying black....when I have Radio 1 on my TV there is a fixed logo quite large on the screen and text saying the name and artist of the current track. If the image is just plain black, I can't see why it would cause a problem as the phospers would be at minimum.

If it's a black screen then you have no issues...other than it's costing you a lot of electricity to run a radio!

You'll be fine, there is a 'screen saver' pixel shift function which periodically bumps everything out by a pixel and then back again.

If you're really worried, after a period of listening to a very juicy radio run it for 60 seconds on an untuned analogue channel.

Circa 8 years ago my gf's big old plasma had a cow ghosted into it! It was relegated to the basement room and replaced by something even bigger! The cow was quite funny though
