Hi all i am about to replace a samsung 40 plasma with a 60 or even 58. I have tried a lcd before i got the last plasma,as i was told they were better for gaming and ended up sending it back. So are the LG,s as good as the samsungs ?? or should i pay the extra and get a samsung 58.

What distance will you be sat from the TV?
Aside from Sky+ HD, any other HD sources?
If you're not stretching financially, perhaps the extra £3-400 on the Pioneer LX5090 would be worth exploring, albeit losing a few inches.

You don't say which length will be your viewing distance, assuming sofa against the wall and not out into the room.
Either way, you'll never appreciate the benefits of 1080P on anything viewed in there short of almost 100" diagonal, which puts you firmly in the projector and screen category.
Even standard HD off the Sky+ HD/Virgin V+ box or 720p output from a Blu-Ray source, will be much different from good SD broadcast or DVD on the two listed.
