Wonder if Plotloss, Derestrictor or TDM34 can help with this one?
Sold a Samsung plasma to a guy three years ago with one HDMI. He wanted a Samsung blu ray player 3600 to go with it and delivered it today. When hooked up via HDMI it isnt seeing the player at all. When I hooked it up to a later Samsung panel he has, then sees it fine. Using component it also seems to be OK, but for some reason the image is shocking.
HDMI is V1.3
Any ideas where [ besides the obvious Samsung refs!] I may be able to offer a solution? Also to add i lent him an older Blu Ray player while his was on order and it worked fine!
Technology huh?
Any help greatly appreciated as it will be a nightmare trying to get some help from my korean chums

Is the Plasma HDCP compliant? i.e. was it badged under the HD Ready licence or was it using one of their tricky 'HD Compatible' or similar marketing sops which had some key features, like HDCP compliance, missing?

Samsungs have handshaking issues at the very best of times.

What is the model of the set, the bluray player and the loaner player?

Thanks for your help Matt...Its a 42Q97 [ bit of an oldie] The loan Blu Ray that worked is a BDP1400 and the one that has the issues is a BDP3600.
To summarise..the older blu ray player works fine with the panel and the newer unit works fine on his 32B450. He did have a couple of HDMI cables with him and neither worked even though both were V1.3.

Really appreciate any assistance.

All solved Matt. Reset player to 720p and panel saw it instantly. Oh I love AV. Thanks anyway
